The Raindrop
The clouds came in. Dark and full of promise.
Thunder and lightning clashed in the sky.
And as the rain poured down, the wind remained silent.
The rain filled the creeks that surrounded the mountains.
Mountains so high that only fools would try to climb them.
And as the creek filled the lake the forest remained silent.
So much so that even a fallen tree would register as a whisper.
Remains of this rain reached the riverside,
Trickling in like the tears on a blush red cheek.
Travails to be told if only there was an ear nearby.
The flow continued, following the path of the unknown.
Unnoticed it prevailed until the raindrops reached the sea.
Past the gulf, into the ocean. Lost among the boundless particles.
