It’s stays true to the original but, and then some. Spears’ guitar work in the middle of the song takes the original synthesizer sound, puts it in a wormhole somewhere far out in the galaxy, and brings it back like a vessel that has a story to tell. Spears has a very unique way of making the sounds of his guitar come off almost like vocals and it’s beautiful to hear. The stretched out notes at the end are vaguely reminiscent of the Shakes’ track “Gemini”. Very cool sounds from the Khru, and like always, looking forward to their new album. A cover album possibly? Here’s hoping their Hip-Hop medley makes an appearance on the new album.
