Remember when the NFL said that their players evolved to the point where their brains are less susceptible to injury? Or that concussed players who return in the same game are at no further risk for injury? That's almost as insane as giving players who use cannabis harsher penalties than those that abuse their spouse or partners. Though the sport and league are deeply rooted in our culture, we should give further thought to why we support these institutions that shape our culture. Or maybe not. Maybe it's just the American way.
